Merry Christmas!
It’s the Christmas season which runs from December 25 to January 5th.
It’s also the second Christmas without my husband who passed in 2023. My husband was a bright spirit who lit up a room when he entered. In remembrance of him, I’m pausing to meditate on gratitudes—one for each day of Christmastide.
1) Number 1 is my retirement from corporate life, which also allows for more space to write.
2) My mankind project men’s circle has been a place of connection, healing and self-discovery.
3) I hosted Christmas for the family and the house, food, and energy of those who came was great.
4) For better or for worse, I put my first book out into the world.
5) Though the process was messy, a deep wound was exposed around being gay.
6) My health has been good and my I’ve maintained a robust workout schedule of gym time and yoga.
7) Sleep has improved (longtime insomnia!).
8) Hurricane season resulted in a loss of trees but no serious damage to the home.
9) Butterflies and bees of many kinds have been daily visitors to my gardens.
10) A totally amazing book launch, retirement, birthday party where I had the pleasure of connecting with people from the many parts of my life all at once while being rocked by the Stags, a local cover band.
11) Post retirement, blood pressure has improved.
12) A new friend.
